The design of Jinke CIFI City Cover draws inspiration from the local culture of Shaoxing, where the project is located. The design team extracted elements from the local eight-character bridge, boat culture, and water elements, using these as the foundation for their design logic and clues. This approach not only respects the narrative expression of architectural vocabulary but also caters to the strong social needs of modern life.
What sets Jinke CIFI City Cover apart from other designs is its emphasis on the integration and unity of the interior and exterior. From the plane layout to the internal space planning, the arched form is used to create a theme commercial concept pavilion with a rich cultural context. This design provides an appropriate interactive experience to visitors, making it a unique and engaging space.
The realization of this design involved the use of various materials including art paint, artificial stone, art glass, bronze stainless steel, transparent acrylic, and tin foil. Covering a total of 1863 square meters, the project was completed in March 2020, after starting in November of the previous year.
In their research, the design team found that the water brand resides in the water alley, and the bridge connects the distance from place to place. Boats travel between the lanes with developed water systems, making the water doorplate culture of the water town a significant part of the urban texture. This discovery was deeply engraved on the city's business card and played a crucial role in the design process.
One of the challenges the design team faced was creating a water bar display stand that differed from the traditional water bar. They overcame this by using white marble counter shops and more practical displays, creating a space atmosphere comparable to professional coffee and beverage shops. The result is a space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
In conclusion, Jinke CIFI City Cover is a testament to Matrix Design's ability to blend local culture with modern design. This project showcases their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, making it a deserving winner of the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. The design is not only a remarkable piece of architecture but also a symbol of the city's rich cultural heritage.
